Production Processes

The heart of Brose Sitech is our production. We implement innovative solutions in the manufacturing of top-class car seats, seat frames and other automotive components.

It starts with sheet metal, it ends with a product that delights customers.

Production at Brose Sitech differs from location to location. At our JIT/JIS locations, all components are picked individually and assembled step by step in various stages - from individual parts to entire seats or cockpits. In our plants for the production of seat frames and components, steel parts are first stamped in the press shop before they pass through the welding stations and the paint shop and are delivered for final assembly.

Forming

The first stage of the manufacturing process is forming, where the steel is subject to various processes.

Nine transfer presses and three progressive presses, with a press force between 200 and 2,600 tons, process more than 160 tons of sheet metal every day. The quick stamping die changeover enables the highest possible flexibility of the manufacturing programm.

Welding

Laser welding is our core technology.

We also apply Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Metal Active Gas (MAG), cold metal welding (CMT), and MicroMIG. Combined with strict process control, we achieve stable and most precise welding results.

Painting

The seat frames are coated within an automated cathodic dip painting process at four modern painting lines that provides long-term corrosion protection. Every week, seat frames with a surface of 44,000 m², equivalent to six soccer pitches, are painted.

Final Assembly

Whether a seating system or a cockpit.

Our products are put together step by step in our JIT/JIS plants - seat frames, cross-car beams, trim covers, foams, plastic covers, airbags, heating, ventilation and comfort systems, various sensors, and cable harnesses are combined in an almost unique product for a specific car.
