18 Oct 2023 / 12:10 Hefei/ Anhui. After 6 months of construction and preparation, Brose Sitech (Anhui) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. is now officially put into operation. The opening ceremony was held today. Thomas Spangler, Chief Executive Office Brose Sitech Group, Michael Brandstetter, Chief Operating Officer Brose Sitech Group, Wang Wei, Executive Vice President China, Wang Ankang, Plant Manager of Brose Sitech (Anhui) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., as well as the board of directors, leaders of Hefei Economic Development Zone, parent companies Volkswagen and Brose, Volkswagen Anhui and Shanghai as customers and media attended the opening ceremony of the newly established Anhui company.Located in Hefei, Anhui Province, Brose Sitech (Anhui) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. is the second production site in China after Brose Sitech (Shanghai) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. The main business of the new facility is to provide seat solutions for Volkswagen's Anhui related models and, in the future, also to actively expand further cooperation with other OEMs in Hefei. Its production capacity includes metal seat frames, complete seat assembly and just-in-sequence (JIS) supplies.The acquisition of two new orders in May 2023 by Brose Sitech Anhui is an important milestone in Brose Sitech China’s growth strategy. These orders will lead to a higher utilization rate of the new plant in Anhui, create more job opportunities and at the same time increase revenue for the region. The construction of the Anhui company had already started in April 2022 and was completed in October of the same year, with a total construction area of 13,000 square meters. After setting up the production lines and additional equipment in September 2022 with the support from the headquarters in Shanghai, all further necessary requirements and tests could be completed.Among other things, the facility has also passed the CCC audit and certification recently. In June 2023, the factory received the SFN1 audit certification of the Tavascan project by Volkswagen Anhui, for which the Brose Sitech employees completed all production tasks excellently and thereby successfully guaranteed to pass the review. This milestone also marked the official entry of the Anhui site into mass production, as the factory is now ready to use well established processes to complete projects for future customers.
